Learning Tours

AIMM staff members Charles Buller and Bruce Yoder each make multiple yearly visits to AIMM partner churches in Africa.  A “learning tour” happens when an AIMM staff member planning travel to visit AIMM partner churches, is accompanied by an interested person or persons.  “Interested persons” could refer to individuals with a high level of personal investment in AIMM ministries, donors, church or conference representatives, or mission-related personnel from AIMM partners, among others.

During the tour, the AIMM staff person will have regular work responsibilities to carry out.  However, a special effort will be made to accommodate the particular interests and needs of the learners.  Planning for this happens in dialogue both before and during the travel.  The learners are able to see for themselves AIMM partner churches in action, visit various projects and locations, and participate in discernment conversations between church leaders and AIMM staff.
